Safety, Insurance, Certification, & Compliance

At Sentinel SkyWorks LLC, compliance is not a box we check — it’s the foundation of everything we do. As a Pennsylvania-based, FAA Part 107 Certified and fully insured aerial operations company, we maintain the highest standards of legal, ethical, and technical compliance in the unmanned aviation industry.

We understand that our clients — from real-estate professionals and engineers to public-safety teams and environmental agencies — depend on us for accurate, reliable, and fully compliant results. That trust is earned through rigorous certification, continuous education, and strict adherence to all federal, state, and local flight regulations.

Insurance & Risk Management

Sentinel SkyWorks maintains comprehensive commercial aviation insurance that exceeds minimum industry standards. Our policies cover general liability, property damage, and aerial operations to ensure that every client, site, and pilot is protected throughout the mission lifecycle. Insurance documentation is available to clients upon request before any flight.

✅ Comprehensive commercial aviation liability coverage
✅ Protection for client sites, equipment, and data
✅ Certificates of Insurance available upon request
✅ Policies maintained above industry minimums

Our insurance ensures peace of mind from takeoff to data delivery.

FAA Part 107 Certification

All Sentinel SkyWorks missions are conducted under the Federal Aviation Administration’s Part 107 Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS) Rule — the primary regulatory framework governing commercial drone operations in the United States.

Our pilots hold current FAA Remote Pilot Certificates, complete all required recurrent training, and are authorized to operate commercially in both controlled and uncontrolled airspace. In addition to meeting all foundational Part 107 requirements, Sentinel SkyWorks maintains strict compliance with all optional and conditional waivers and authorizations required for specialized missions — including night operations, flights over people or moving vehicles, beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS), increased altitude ceilings, and other advanced operational capabilities. Whenever a mission requires such permissions, we obtain the necessary FAA approvals and operate strictly within the parameters of those waivers.

Key FAA Part 107 Standards We Comply With

Remote Pilot Certification with TSA Security Vetting
Registration of Every Aircraft Used in Operations
Pre-Flight Inspection and Detailed Maintenance Documentation
Visual Line-of-Sight (VLOS) Operations Unless Operating Under an Approved Waiver
Daylight and Civil-Twilight Operations with FAA-Compliant Anti-Collision Lighting
Airspace Authorization for Controlled Airspace (via LAANC, ATC Approval, or Applicable Waiver)
Maximum Altitude and Speed Limitations per FAA Part 107.51
Mandatory Reporting of Incidents Under FAA 107.9
Strict No-Fly Compliance in Restricted, Prohibited, TFR, and Sensitive Airspace Zones
Full Compliance With Optional & Conditional FAA Waivers When Required
(Night operations, BVLOS, operations over people/moving vehicles, altitude deviations, SGI emergency authorizations.)

Each mission begins only after these conditions are verified and logged through our pre-flight safety checklist and digital mission review.

Safety Protocols & Operational Standards

Pre-Flight Assessment — Site and airspace evaluation, NOTAM review, weather check, environmental considerations
Mission Planning — FAA LAANC authorization or waiver confirmation, defined altitudes and contingencies
Pilot Communication & Redundancy — Live coordination and redundant navigation systems
Post-Flight Review — Data archival, mission debrief, and traceability reporting

This process ensures that every client project meets FAA expectations, insurance requirements, and our own zero-incident goal.
